UMWA Endorses Former Coal Miner
The Ohio State Council of Coal Miners Political Action committee voted unanimously to endorse Terri Jamison for Associate Justice on the Ohio Supreme Court. Overwhelmingly, they were impressed by her background as a third generation coal miner who worked in District 17 in West Virginia. She was one of a few women who were certified to work underground at the time. Workforce reduction caused her to move to Columbus in the mid-1980s seeking work.
"I'm ecstatic to have this endorsement above many others. I come from a long line of proud men and women who worked hard to provide for their families, she said. I count this endorsement among the top because of what it represents. I hope I can make them all proud by winning the seat on the Supreme Court."
